Mortgage Net Branch Wisconsin
At this time, Wisconsin does not allow mortgage net branches, but there are still possibilities for mortgage brokers.
Unfortunately, legislation gone wild makes Wisconsin one of those states that does not allow for experienced mortgage professionals to operate a mortgage net branch in Wisconsin. This doesn't mean, though, that your options are severely limited.
You can still work as a license mortgage broker in the State of Wisconsin, even if you don't have a physical office in Wisconsin. The reality is, a net branch is nothing more than a physical (brick and mortar) mortgage operation located in the state.
You can accomplish the same thing as long as you post a $120,000 surety bond (as of this writing), and follow the other requirements for obtaining a mortgage broker's license for Wisconsin, then you can handle loan originations (which is what you would be doing in a mortgage net branch anyway) as well as anything else that a mortgage broker does.
Not having to maintain a physical office in Wisconsin but having a mortgage broker license (working for a licensed lender) for that state offers you many advantages. For one thing, you don't have to uproot your family and move to Wisconsin, unless you want to. You can stay right where you're at, which may be close to the larger mortgage office with which you are affiliated, but still help people moving to or living in Wisconsin with their mortgage needs.
People face challenges in the workplace every day, and the mortgage industry is no different. Although it would be nice if Wisconsin allowed net branches in that State, the fact is that some don't. So instead of concentrating on what you can't do in Wisconsin, turn your attention to what you can do.
You would not stop trying in any other field, so why should you in the mortgage field? Accept the challenge and show people how successful you can be without a mortgage net branch in Wisconsin.
